Ski Weekend FAQ

Quick answers for planning your trip.

How close is Cedar Escape to Massanutten skiing and snow tubing?
Cedar Escape is inside the Massanutten Resort community, a short drive from the slopes, the snow tubing hill and the indoor WaterPark, with no highway driving from a hotel in town.
When is Massanutten's ski season?
Massanutten says it normally begins making snow in early to mid-December and stays open until early March, or as long as the weather allows. Check the resort's snow conditions page before you pick dates.
Should we reserve snow tubing tickets in advance?
Yes. Massanutten sells snow tubing in 90-minute sessions online only, and tickets regularly sell out. Book your session as soon as your stay is confirmed.
What can non-skiers do during a ski weekend?
Snow tubing, the indoor WaterPark, a winter walk in Shenandoah National Park, and a trip to downtown Harrisonburg are all nearby. Back at the house there's a movie room, a game room with a pool table and arcade, and a full kitchen for group dinners. Non-skiers can also book an in-home massage at the house, or check out our other CE Exclusives and local partnerships, including pottery at Friendly City Clay, wine tours and partner restaurants. Browse them on our Add-Ons page and Explore Massanutten guide, and see your Cedar Escape digital guidebook after you book for details.
Are lift tickets, rentals or WaterPark admission included?
No. Lift tickets, lessons, rentals, snow tubing and WaterPark admission are separate and are booked and paid for directly with Massanutten Resort. They are not part of your Cedar Escape reservation.
How many guests can stay at Cedar Escape?
Cedar Escape sleeps up to 14 guests, with 5 bedrooms, 9 beds and 3 full bathrooms.
Is booking directly through Cedar Escape available?
Yes. Use our availability page to see live dates and book directly with Cedar Escape, which skips third-party booking-platform fees.
